Lazerick got the DJ bug in 1979 when he heard a remix of Devo's Whip It by Dave Davidson on the Herb Kent punkout show, using a Hitachi cassette deck Lazerick began creating puse button remixes. Hailing from the Windy City Chicago IL, Lazerick began spinning in 1981. Learned and practiced with the famed Byron Burke (Of Ten City), ditched school for a month straight and almost failed 8th grade because of his love for the artform. At the age of 14, Lazerick began DJing in a Casell's Lounge as relief for the House DJ. Got the full emotional effect while clubbin' at various clubs in the Chicago area as a teen.
Lazerick stepped away from the decks in 1993 for ten years until 2003 when a near miss on a tragic accident almost destroyed his vinyl collection. After a week of cleaning records, Lazerick was told by his wife "If you like them damn records so much why don't you start spinning again?"...lol. So he pulled out the old belt drive turntables and started up again!!!
In 2005 was recruted by DJ Johnny Blaze to play Hip Hop on the internet radio station WarriorFM but opted to play House Music because it was Lazerick's first love. Became a mainstay on Sunday night and developed a huge following. Also in 2005 Lazerick joined internet radio station FaderwaveRadio, there he developed a large following on a monday night with the "House Grooves" show.
In 2007 internet DJ information site djforums.com of which it's members, consists of DJ's from all over the world began a contest to find
their House Music Champion. Lazerick, won that contest and became the djforums.com 2007 House Music Champion. Also, in 2008 Lazerick entered the musicV2.com House Music Championship contest where he took 2nd place.
Lazerick aslo has bee seen and heard all over the U.S.A. and in the Chi-Town area. Clubs included Chicago's Zentra NightClub, Vision NightClub, The Chrommium NightClub, the Ola Lounge, and The Beef & Brandy, just to name a few. Expect to hear everything from 70's Disco, 80's Funk, Classic Chicago House, Deep House, Italo, Disco House, Funky House, ACID House, Soulful House, and Ghetto Tech every Sunday night
